What it actually does
Six thin aluminum rods telescope out and lock into a tripod-style base, folding down small enough to slide into a normal laptop bag pocket. The wider brackets grip larger 15 and 16-inch laptops more securely than the standard-width version, and the taller max height gives more room to pair with an external keyboard.
Who this is actually for
Anyone who splits time between a desk, a kitchen table, or other work spots with a larger laptop, and wants the same portable ergonomic lift as the standard model without the fit compromise. Not the pick for someone whose laptop never leaves one desk.
What to weigh before buying
- It's priced at the premium end of laptop stands, mechanical folding stands with less portability cost meaningfully less.
- The wider brackets add a small amount of extra folded size and weight over the standard version.
- Like other bracket-grip stands, getting the laptop back out takes a firm pull rather than a quick release.
The verdict
If a larger laptop moves between locations regularly and the standard-width stand felt too snug, this is the right upgrade. Worth it specifically for the fit, not just as a general refresh.
